phMUD, a Philippine MUD Server

Welcome to phMUD! After 2 years or so of putting up with difficult personalities at RavenMUD, Bathala* and myself are spearheading the transition of all Coven players to a realm which we finally can call our own. Though bitter sweet, it is a move necessary to put into motion the changes that are needed to… Continue Reading →

A Random Act of Kindness

A couple of years back which now feels like a millennia ago, I was off for vacation to the Luzon mainland and about to take my first plane flight. I was also travelling alone. A little bit naive more than I am today, the thought of not knowing how to buckle the safety belt, in… Continue Reading →

Climbing Mount APO, Our Turn

Our Mt APO summit bid, our 2nd major climb for this year 2013, was laid out as early as December of 2012 and was organized by our outgoing Club President, Teresa. The plan was simple really, get promo fares while enduring the 6 month wait, get some activities done for the club and, well, climb… Continue Reading →

Singapore Is Awesome

Yes, Singapore is awesome. I just to say that immediately. *grin*. Truth be told, I've never been to any country outside the Philippines prior to this. Travel seem such a big state of unnecessary affairs. I think men in general think like that. Add the fact that I've also never wanted to leave the country.… Continue Reading →

Keep at it my friend So we just climbed MT. APO via the Kapatagan - Kidawapan trail a few weeks back, the second major climb for MALAKAT Outdoors this 2013 among our usual climb sorties. I wrote a partial climb log here and I might publish the rest of it here. We'll see how it… Continue Reading →

Charity Climb at Osmena Peak

I liken the feeling of getting gifts and surprises as this photo. I hope we made children happy that day. - The sunrise at Osmena Peak. The views from Osmena Peak are as picturesque as any and being the highest point in the Cebu Province makes it a hotbed for campers and trekkers all year… Continue Reading →

Bukid, a Charity Climb

School Year 2013-2014 opens this June 3 and for the less fortunate children of the highlands, this means another year of scrimping on paper, borrowing pens, and no notebooks to write on. It's a sad story. But we can help. This June 8 & 9, we are going to donate pens, papers, and bags to… Continue Reading →

The Nine Gates to Hell

The first of many gates. The Nine Gates to Hell is an area created by Lilis and Kurse in the RavenMUD realm which features a lot of loops between rooms while death traps abound. Considered as one of the more harder areas to run before the purge, nowadays can be soloed by the veteran necromancers… Continue Reading →

Mount Lantoy, of spirits and shadow lurkers

The moon during the night. Interestingly, this is what the orbs looked like. If you haven't read the first part I suggest that you do first. Read it here, Mt. Lantoy, a ghost story Evening The rain didn't hold back forcing us to huddle inside Rain's tent. Manoy Rodel and our other guide decided to… Continue Reading →

I Thought You Should Know That

When I'm away I look forward to the moment when we could finally be together. For some reason, you brush on me those urges of being happy. The happy child as you say yourself. And I need those, you know I do because you see that in me. An example, at times where I would… Continue Reading →

Mt. Lantoy, a ghost story

Over a year ago our club decided to climb Mt. Lantoy . This is part 1 of my account of that fateful climb. A climb all of us will never forget. I remember with difficulty the events during the morning of March 3, 2012. Somehow my memory fails me on this regard which I attribute… Continue Reading →

Mt. Tres Marias, 2013

This is the 1st of 2 parts of my account for our Tres Marias expedition last January 26-27, 2013 in Naval, Biliran Island. Both our major and year opener climb of the same year. Our initial group was composed of at least 15 but dwindled down to 9 during the actual climb. Carlo and Odessa… Continue Reading →

Writing and Style

I've been meaning to write more lately and the hardest part is always about getting past writing four lines at most. At some point I feel that I fail myself particularly with the fleeting instances of a light-bulb moment. The worst part, is half believing that I failed myself and the wonderful girl who deserves… Continue Reading →
